This programme is ideal if you want to pursue a career as a Big Data scientist or expert, deriving valuable insights and business-relevant knowledge from massive amounts of data.

The programme provides you with the in-depth knowledge and advanced skills that you will need to actively contribute to the development and design of systems for Big Data analytics. There is a real need in the job market for people who are expertly trained to model huge amounts of data, with demand for data-driven systems in all sectors increasing year-on-year.

During this course, you will cover the fundamental statistical methods (e.g. data mining and machine learning), technological tools (e.g. Cloud, Hadoop, Spark), and security measures required to undertake large-scale data analysis.

The entry requirements for admission are:

An accredited UK Honors Degree with a minimum of 2.2 standing in Computer Science or clearly related subject OR recognised international equivalent qualification (depending on country and level). Some professional qualifications in Computer Science or clearly related subjects at the appropriate level may also be considered.
Official transcripts from all universities, colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions attended.
English Proficiency: Students satisfy the English proficiency requirements provided they present a GCSE score with a minimum grade of “C” or IELTS (Academic) with an overall score of at least 6.0 (and no individual component lower than 5.5) or equivalent qualification. Students who do not acquire the above mentioned qualifications are required to take the online Academic English Placement Test. This is an IELTS-type test (Reading & Writing) where students need to score an overall 6.0 (with no individual component lower than 5.5).
